How do I begin to explain this scene? Everything was falling apart. Their plan was so, so good but Stefan, of all people, screwed it over. Damon was furious, hurt, confused, sad. Well, he was completely emotionally unstable and he snapped. Vampires snap and Damon particularly snaps a lot. And Elena was able to calm him down, console him, get to him only with her hands and words. She was everything he needed at the time, someone he could count on to be there for him. Someone he could trust, who he could open up with, let out all the frustration and anger because he trusts her that much. She says they’ll let Stefan go and now it’s just them. It’s them against the world. And it’s ok that it’s only them because guys, they always survive.
